Grandma Saafs’ Little House

Here is Grandma Saaf’s little cabin up behind the ‘big’ house. She chopped her own wood. Made her own soap. Made her own apple butter, too. How many can still do that from home grown apples! Grandma collected rain water off of the roof to wash her hair. Always used some kind of mystery manure to make her little corn and beans grow. Grandma always had a stack of old Reader’s Digests around.

Jim McCormack Sr., Bill Wolf, Bill Davids, Ken Wolf, and Charlie Saaf, Sr., use to play pinochle on the porch in the August nights. There was a dance platform in the parking lot behind the house. Used to have dances there in the 30’s. Or so they say…. Grandma SaafGrandma Saaf, 1975 or so.
