Looking back toward the Spring; turnoff on the right...
That spring water was so good! Clear and fresh. It wasn't so much the thought of the freshness back then. It was more about being in the woods and having to fill up the plastic jug with water and take it home and put it in the refrigerator to get real cold that was so important. Not quite the same as turning a chrome faucet and seeing a pumped-in glass of water.

Here you are looking back toward the Spring. It is ahead about 100 feet on your right. Helen Cooke's place is on your immediate right. Way off in the background you can see the little hill. The turnoff to the Spring is on the right. It's just a little clearing now. You sure had to watch parking your big GM car back in the 1960s. The turnoff dropped off a good 2 feet!
